Sometimes, there are no words to describe someone's insensitivity. You just have to let them express it themselves. So, I give you the words of Reprsentative Steve King (R. Iowa), explaiing why TPS for Haitians is not necessary:
Illegal immigrants from Haiti have no reason to fear deportation, but if they
are deported, Haiti is in great need of relief workers and many of them could be
a big help to their fellow Haitians.
Rep. King's statement is reminiscent of Scrooge's statement from "The Christmas Carol:"

I am planning to file H1 petition through a sponsor . I am having questions for h1 duration and initial h1 approval time, here is my details :
I am on L1 right now and my L1 stay in US is :
Apr'07 - Dec'07 - 9 months
Jan'08 - Mar'09 - Was in india
Mar'09 - till date - ~13 months.
Now my questions are :
1) If I apply for h1, how much time I can stay on h1 considering L1 stay as well ?
2) How much time initially h1 could be approved before doing h1 extension for another 3 years ?

Folks make sure the A number is same in both applications, if they are different USCIS puts it aside and will not process, I found out today while getting my address verified with USCIS IO, they had entered my address wrongly.
WHile checking the IO said it was good that my wife's derivate app under me, and her self 485 App A numbers match. Otherwise, they put it in pending state forever.
I am still in a confused state.IV friends continue to neglect my threads.:D.
I was in L2 EAD and had a A# starting with 1 .Now after filing for GC all my receipt notices have a different A# starting with"0"."Alien number is something like SSN " was my persumption.I had also filled in the applications for GC using the L2 EAD alien number.Attorney never replies.Totally confused.:confused:

Please see below I-140 ref. I do understand that they need me to submit an experience letter including employment date and specific duties, but how to handle the second evidence? If the specific duties on my previous employer�s experience letter already includes those H14 specific skill and other requirements, is that enough? Or I will still need to find something else to support/proof them? Thanks!

My Wife had the same issue when her H1B got approved. Her attorney (It was his mistake) had to amend the petition . But I remember we got a new receipt number and a new I-94 with the corrected DOB when the final approval came. The bad thing is the amendement application also enters the H1-B cycle of months for approval if not filed under premium processing. We had plans to travel back to India and do stamping at that time. I had to pay this attorney $1000 for PP even though it was his mistake.

I have one question about signing the affidavit of support (864) for immigration of a family member.
(i.e. For petition for Immediate Relative- daughter files for mother)
If daughter signs an affidavit of support for mother (i.e. form 864) for immigrant visa (Immediate relative) then in that case for daughter is it going to create any problem in getting study loans/home loan in future?
Just curious, how are they related.
I'm not seeing any connection between these items.
Affidavit is for USCIS to show the ability that she can take the financial burden, study loan is for university to decide borrower can able to pay or not and mortgage loan is also the same, in both the cases you have to pay back and in first case it is not.

I did my 7 th year visa transfer this year and again it took more than 2 months then nothing happened later I went for premium processing because my wife's H4 stamping date was coming closure. I guess usually it takes 2-3 months for transfering visa. Mine was Nebraska Service center. Again this year I am going for 8th year extension. Good luck for your visa transfer. Just relax and wait for USCIS reply on ur application.

I came to the US on F1 for MS and then trasferred to another college to pursue my PhD. During this time my F1 visa expired, but I am maintaining my legal status as my I-20 is valid. I got married last year and my wife who originally came on F1, is now on H1.
I am going to planning to go to India in end of April and need to renew my F1 visa. What are the chances of my renewal getting refused, due to my wife's H1 (dual intention) status? What documents if any, can I show in order to prove that I have intentions to come back to the US?
I need to get a visa interview date soon, so please reply as soon as is convenient.

I am planning to file EB2 and port my EB3-I140 PD. My current position is System Analyst with EB3 job requirement. I can get a promotion but that doesnt qualify for EB2 job requirement. So I am planning to move to a different position, Research Associate which qualifies for EB2(it requires masters degree) with the same employer. Can I file EB2 with this position and port my EB3-I140 PD? Advice pls.

Dear All,
I am filing AOS for my wife. I noticed G-325A is only single page now, I remember when I submitted mine it was 5 pages. Is it changed to 1 page only or I need to make 5 copies of that single page.
I am submitting AOS and EAD, according to my understanding only 2 photo for AOS and 2 photo for EAD, total 4 photos are required. I saw in some forum they are saying about 6 photos. Am I missing anything...

I am trying to get a green card for the US. My parents are from east asia and I was born in Canada. I went to University in Maryland from 1992-96 and obtained my dental license. I am licensed in the US and intend to purchase a dental office soon. I will still be keeping my dental office in Canada for at least 1 year once I am able to work in the US. I heard about a investment visa however I am not investing more than $400k but it will employ at least 4 US nationals(ctizens). Can I still use the investment visa or can I get a visa for opening a secondary dental office in the US and still keep my existing office in Canada until I qualify for a green card. When I returned US, Immigration office issued me I-94 validity until September 23, 2011. Now how long I can stay in US?? Do I need to apply for H1B visa extension or I will go to Canada or Mexico to apply for new visa or if I go to Canada or Mexico and return back, they will issue me a new I-94 until Sep/Oct 2012. Any one please suggest what should I do?
Your stay is legal until your I-94 specified date. You can get it resolved by INS or go out of US and reenter (which may turn out to be faster). And this time while entering make sure Immigration officer puts right date on your I-94.
