Working on "loss of pay" means you are still on the pay roll but cannot sustain keeping up your responsibilities of your job. You are still in status. People who go to home country for visa validation, when get struck there, are supposed to be at "loss of pay" but still on the job; that is the reason they get the visa stamps and come back. If they go into out of status, they wouldn't have gotten the visa stamp. This has happened to a few people from India and China that I know of a couple of years back.
Vacation could be taken under such an understanding with your HR.

GC and LC Wage is for FUTURE job offer and has nothing to do with what you earn now. However, massive difference can raise questions as to how you can justify such a big raise. Hope that the question does not rise.

Did you get an RFE for ability to pay before it was denied? if yes, a good lawyer would have helped you answer that. Now you must ask your company to appeal this decision. It takes a year or more for this appeal to be answered. You can use this proof to get your H1B extended if needed. (that is also an option for you).
Even while the appeal is in process, you can start looking around and find a good employer.
Find out where the fault is. Since you are working in the company and the company is paying you salary, the ability to pay could have easily been addressed. Is it HR fault or Lawyer's fault. If you have to leave the company, you can use this as a reason to leave and tell this to the top bosses so that they can take action against incompetent HR or incompetent lawyers.
In your new company start your PERM process asap. HR or lawyers sometimes drag the application and can take several months to move something an inch. Try to find a lawyer that you can hire rather than a company Lawyer. If is tough to find a 'good lawyer' and you need to do some shopping around yourself. Read a sticky thread in IV spotlight topics about lawyers before you hire one. In every step of the process always review each and every document that the lawyer files. Go through it word by word and line by line. Check each tick mark and crosses. Read about each stage of the process yourself and be informed. Be active on the forums and ask questions and learn from others experiences.
We cannot afford to be ignorant of laws on immigration matters even though we are hiring experts to do our job.

A person holding H-4 can attend college in the U.S. In fact, some colleges offer in-state tuition for H-4 students. Check Brooklyn College for instance. INA does not specifically disallow from attending college of H-4 nor H-1 and colleges are aware of this. So if your wife is doing this only because she would like to pursue degree, I would suggest she explores the options and if possible remains on H-4, which is a dual intent status.

I also got FP notince for I-485 and I am july 2007 filer , So it is not after 15 months time frame rule. I filed EAD extesion and got EAD too.:)

Don't worry abt the receipt date on the transfer notice. It is the date on which yor app was entered in the system, Your RN for 485 (which you have not received yet) will have the july 26th as RD and would have sept 26th as ND

We had sent our apps to Nebraska on July 26 but we received a transfer notice for 485 from vermont with a receipt date of Sept 26 and notice date of Oct 3.
I always thought the receipt date of my application is the day when our application reached the center.
Can someone help explaining this....

I have observed senior members constantly heckling anyone trying put their views asking "Have you given any contribution ?" "How have you contributed to any work?" This is a democratic cause and i think we not heckle people. It will erode the support base. We need to understand that out of all the members only few percent will contribute. Constant repsonses to people expresssing their view will either drive people away or will not allow more creative ideas to come out. Take this case. It is a very good idea to go to Indian channels. I would expect a response like "Lets approach them and try to convince about our cause" (I know when i am writing this, next post will be why dont you try clling. I am ready but such a responce will dampen anyones spirit. Consider our activity like a profit center. More people and ideas is the driving force.Money is important but people who understnad the cause wont wait to contribute anyway.

It is out and installed. I loaded up the rainbow picture, did an adjustment layer, but don't seem to be making changes that really improve the shot. I'll try some more later, but I have to go, the sun is about to rise :)
If you get frustrated with it, drop a note. I actually did the rainbow pic this am before I left the house.... took screen shots while doing it and made a pdf file for you. I just haven't had time to get it up on my website yet though. Maybe tomorrow!

Dear Friends, My sincerest hopes and prayers that EB2-I dates advance my PD is Jul 2007 and we narrowly missed the Jul 07 windfall. I hope our wait for EAD & AP ends this year!

At the time of 485 approval if future employer (B) is responging to RFE then yes you must work for long-term with B, however, in today's world 6 months is considered long-term.

AC21 does not have a limit on the number of times you switch employers. Technically, if you were working for Employer A at the time of the RFE and submit a EVL from Employer A, you could then switch to Employer B immediately on AC21. In this scenario, I haven't worked with A for 6 months.

What a shame and Ignorant people we are trying to motivate...
We are getting requests for getting into the State Chapter but when we ask people to take the survey they are not taking it.
If people cannot take a simple survey, how can they help themselves.
The Join State chapters campaign is going on for months now and it is pathetic that people are still sitting and cribbing and doing nothing but crying on IV forums.
It is really a shame on so called Highly skilled immigrants. Rather it must be highly skilled unmotivated lazy cowards.

My question is; Why do you really want to bring your jwellery here? Why not keep in some safety locker (bank) in India. Is it attractive to walk around with huge gold chains/bangles in the US? Also we have been hearing about burglaries in Indian households becuause of easy access to gold.
Buy gold and keep it in locker in India. Come here with some "duplicate gold" and live free.:D:D:D
Thats what we did when comming back to US in 2007 . but couldnot resist on few and bought along. Now those few are the one i am concerned about travelling back and forth!
Last time when i went to India took 10coins and had to feed the customs Rs.10K. Not sure if it was still a good math compared to pay cash and buy gold in India instead of travelling with coins.
